Mari C. Mariano, LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Part of My Story
I attended Barry University in S. Florida from 1992-1996 and received
my Masters in Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in 1998
at the age of 23. I have been working as a Family Therapist for over
10 years. I started in S. Florida at a runaway shelter for young kids
who needed a break from mom and dad. In 1998, I moved back to my home
state of Connecticut. I have worked in New London, Groton, Madison and
Branford over the past 10 years. My specialties have included, first
and foremost, adolescent girls, individual adults, young couples and
couples who have been married for many years! Each population brings
its rewards and challenges. It is an enjoyable experience for me to be
able to help so many people improve their outlook on life!
5-Week Workshop for Adolescents/Adults
Each week we will focus on one tool to help you understand yourself
better and your role in your relationships. Each tool builds upon the
previous one to help build a foundation for making great healthy
decisions for yourself! Week 1 Taking responsibility for
yourself
Week 2 Managing emotions
Week 3 Staying away from the victim role
Week 4 Understanding what’s YOUR “issue” and what’s not
Week 5 Being True To Yourself! Each week you will be
presented with a tool and then we will discuss your current situations
and how to apply the tool! By the end of the workshop you will have a
foundation to make good decisions that help to increase your
self-worth and confidence moving forward! I look forward to working
with you!
Engaged Couples
Getting engaged is an exciting time in a relationship! It’s
comforting to find the person that makes you a better you and whom you
want to give yourself to completely! Planning the wedding can be fun,
stressful, exciting, anxiety provoking, and one of the best times in
your life!
It can also bring up new issues to deal with, such as:
- Finances
- In-laws
- Priorities
- Religion
- And, dare I say, control issues

If you’d like some help tackling these discussions please feel free
to call upon me as a guide. We can tailor the sessions to meet your
needs (i.e. one day workshop, meet once a week, or however works best
for your schedules).

Mari—Thank you for helping me bring such a light to my own life. We
are having a little girl in April and my husband, my children
and all those in my life are better for the love and light
that I have learned to embrace.
Thank you, for sharing the gift of you to engender such
healing in me.

Mari—You are such a good
listener and a warm and compassionate person. You are always there
for me and I feel I can cope with the world after we've talked.
Thank you for sharing your own experiences with me and for helping
me over the past 8 years. I feel that you truly want to make the
world a better place for all individuals.
